Y. V. Pidchasov, S. M. Halushko Devotion of child of primary school age in the context of family relations

https://doi.org/10.31174/SEND-PP2021-246IX97-14

Abstract. The article considers the relation between the positively formed early mother-child relationship (or a person who makes up for her absence) and her further successful development. The represented theses are based on a careful analysis of the works of foreign and domestic scientists  who  worked  on  the  study  of  the  phenomenon  of  devotion.  The  devotion  formed  in  the  first  years  of  the  child’s  life  remains throughout the life. It has been proven that a strong mother-child bonding helps the child to: overcome fear and anxiety, stress; understand what they perceive; think logically; rely on themselves; achieve maximum intellectual potential; develop harmonious relationships in life. The quality of devotion also determines how the children will adapt to school; how they will build a relationship with the teacher, when transferring the primary maternal devotion to the secondary devotion to the teacher. But when difficulties arise at school, the child still returns to the family to seek support and a feeling of safety.

Keywords: devotion, early mother-child relationship (or a person who makes up for her absence), devotion to a teacher, primary school age, socialization, adaptation.
