N. І. Skrypnyk Functionals and stages of the formation of vocational competence of future teachers of the humanities and pedagogical college

https://doi.org/10.31174/SEND-PP2019-202VII82-11

Annotation.  The  article  outlines  the  main  conceptual  features  of  the  definitions  of  «competence»,  «competency»,  «professional competence of a teacher-philologist», «speech competence». A detailed material of scientific research in this area has been collected. The  theoretical  foundations  of  speech  and  professional  competencies  are  considered.  The  functions  of  the  nature  of  vocal-speech competence are described: cognitive, informative, communicative, and motivational. It is determined that the formation of vocational competence of future teachers of language learning is a multi-vector, complex process of scientific, cognitive, practical and control- ling-reflexive  activity,  which  requires  step-by-step  training,  appropriate  actions  of  a  teacher  and  a  student,  an  optimal  choice  of forms, methods, means and types of educational activity. Formation of the indicated competence takes place in three stages: motivation-cognitive (selection of the best methods, forms and means of learning, accumulation of knowledge necessary for the formation of professional speech skills), operative-constructive (transformation of knowledge into belief and formation of vocational-speaking competency on the basis of them) and productive (implementation of vocational competence in specific types of pedagogical activi- ties). Humanization of education also requires psychologization of pedagogical communication, raising the level of speech competence of the future teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature. Therefore, the improvement of vocational-speaking competence is an important component of the teacher’s professional training. Over the last decade, the amount of knowledge, their transfer and education generation system have changed cardinally. Today it is difficult to prepare a competitive specialist in the field of pedagogical activity. After all, this should be a specialist who possesses not only linguistic competence, but also professional, which is incorporated  in  the  branch  educational-professional  program,  sufficient  for  qualitative  and  effective  solution  of  typical  and  situational multifunctional  tasks  of  professional  activity.  According  to  many  scholars,  language-professional  competence  is  considered  as  a multi-factor  education,  which  enables  successful  professional  activities.  In  the  structure  of  professional  competence,  according  to scientists, it is possible to distinguish design, information, organizing, lingual, speech, communication and analytical components. The speech functions of the teacher are realized within the framework – competent communication with children, parents, colleagues on work. A modern teacher must be able to perform simple communicative tasks, logically formulate thoughts, conduct a discussion, persuade, and defend opinions, it is appropriate to use linguistic means in accordance with the communicative situation, visual material and other media. During the education and teaching in educational institutions, students and teachers should follow the communicative qualities of speech – correctness, expressiveness, relevance, emotionality, logic, imagery, diversity, accuracy, clarity, etc., the rules of speech etiquette. In our opinion, the correctness of the speech of the future teacher is the main feature of the formation of his language  and  communicative  professional  competence,  since  it  involves  systematized  knowledge  of  linguistic  disciplines  and  the ability to use them practically. Person’s culture of speech, first of all, is achieved by improving the skills of efficient operation of linguistic and speech knowledge, such as lexical, stylistic, text-making, discourse, rhetorical. Nowadays, when the information space is filled with innovation-information technologies and the student gets the necessary general cultural and special information from them, rather than from scientific or educational-methodical sources, words with a certain emotional and perceptive load disappeared in the vocabulary of educators, and their speech is considerably impoverished and limited. Consequently, professional speech is a way of expressing a specialist. This is awareness of the ethics of oral and written speech, adherence to stylistic requirements and literary  norms  of  modern  Ukrainian  language,  ability  to  work  with  different  kinds  of  speech  tasks,  rhetorical  possession,  speech culture and terminology of professional communication.
