Abstract. The agenda-setting theory is used by media very actively and precisely because of it editorial teams can form a consumption of its target audience. The features of the formulation of the agenda-setting theory by scientists, its research and basic models are described. The research was conducted on the basis of Internet media «Segodnya.ua», «Obozrevatel.com» та «Tsn.ua». The research was conducted on the basis of Internet media to see as the theory used on the Internet and compare its features in comparison with other types of media. The average number of publishing materials per day and placement of rubrics on the page of each of the selected Internet media are analyzed. From 100% of the analyzed publications 42% was singled out by the editors of the site in various ways – half bold font saturation, photo, video, etc. Dedicated materials concerned political, medical, military news and special emergencies. Not all identified publications are important for the target audience. In order to pay attention to recipients into some publications, use techniques: selection of materials in half bold font saturation, audiovisual content, publishing materials in a separate section, publishing important news during working hours and vice versa – unimportant in non-working, information bubble (offering publications, given the segmentation of the audience). Editorial boards can use the theory of the agenda-setting for manipulating the target audience, therefore, it is necessary to choose the general list of publications to view the information resources, and not separate thematic blocks/headings, do not pay attention to special distinctions, read publications through through and always enjoy various proven media to be able to compare the information received.
